I
had a NDE at the age of 7 years. "It was during a near drowning
accident at my local swimming pool. The pool was packed
with children. It was the summer holidays. I had started
to get into difficulty and found myself under the water.
I grabbed a girl next to me by her bikini bottom. She kicked
me away to the bottom of the pool. I was swallowing water
fast.
Then my life
was flashing before my eyes very fast - happy times mainly,
birthdays, Christmas time with my family. I was confused.
I thought there must have been some kind of mistake. I knew
I was dead with a dreaded certainty, yet I was still thinking.
Then I found
myself in what appeared to be a large tunnel with a small
white light at the other end. I was moving toward this light
pretty fast. I was surrounded by a feeling of absolute peace
and what I can only describe as unconditional love. It felt
wonderful to be there.
As I moved
towards the light, I was aware of two presences near to
me. They were telling me by thought alone that it was not
my time. I had to go back.
We were communicating
just by thoughts back and forth to each other. I knew these
presences knew me, but I did not know them. I had never
met them before.
Then I was
moving quickly back down through the tunnel and into my
body. The lifeguard was giving me the kiss of life. I woke
briefly coughing and spluttering water everywhere. Then
I lost consciousness.
I spent the
next weeks in an oxygen tent. I was fighting for my life,
in and out of consciousness - but mainly unconscious still.
I am 35 years
old now and I still remember this experience as if it was
yesterday. When I'm feeling sad or alone, I remember the
wonderful feelings encountered in the tunnel near to the
light and it brings me great comfort. To have known so much
love enveloping me made me realize how worthwhile and valuable
my life is.
Take care
all.
