When I was about 25, I had a near-death experience.

I was not feeling very well one morning and my roommate was driving me to work. I noticed I had no feeling in my hands and my fingernails were blue. I started having convulsions and I flipped myself into the back seat of the car.

The next thing I saw looked like what I call 'snow.' It looked just like when your TV goes out - snow on the TV.

At this time, I had floated out of my body. I was floating just below the ceiling of the car looking down at myself on the seat of the car. I remember thinking how strange it was that I was up here when my body was still on the car seat! I could see my friend driving and looking back and talking to me. I also noticed that I didn't feel bad anymore.

Then I saw my Grandmother who had died 15 years earlier of a long and cruel illness and that I had loved very much. She had gangrene in one leg and had to have it amputated. At the time of her death, her illness had really taken a toll on her appearance. But when I saw her she looked radiant. She looked about 35 years old, healthy and had both of her legs! I was SO happy to see her and I wanted to stay with her. I asked her if she was OK and she told me she was fine and then told me I had to go back.

She told me, "It is not your time. You have many things to do."

And with that I was slammed back into my body - back was the pain and I felt sad.
